Overview
BMW India launched the X6
facelift in India in the month of July. It is priced at Rs 1.15 crore. The new
BMW X6 made its public debut at the Moscow Motor Show last year. BMW is selling
the new X6 in India as a directly imported CBU. The BMW
X6 is also known as a
Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) and is a crossover-coupe.

share in the growing luxury car segment, BMW, the German luxury carmaker is
getting aggressive and is gearing up for the launch of a range of new premium
SUVs, sedans and hatchbacks.

Vital statistics
The second-generation X6 is
slightly bigger in size than the previous versions and measures 4,909 mm in
length, 1,989 mm in width and 1,702 mm in height. The wheelbase remains
unchanged at 2,933 mm.
External features
The X6’s styling includes a bolder
and sharper front fascia, new LED bi-xenon headlamps, signature kidney grille, revised
front and rear bumpers, redesigned tail lamps and 19-inch alloy wheels (20-inch
optional), are a few of the external features found on the BMW X6. BMW is also
offering an M Sport package that includes air-intakes finished in high-gloss
black, M door sill finishers, M badges on the right and left wings and tailpipe
covered in high-gloss chrome. Inside the cabin, one will notice similar
interiors as seen on the current BMW X5.
Interiors
The latest X6 receives a
restyled dashboard, more heavily contoured seats and luxurious trims. The
two-tone upholstery in Nappa leather comes with contrast stitching in
Cognac/Black or Ivory white/black. This imparts the cabin a very classy look.
The Oak wood inserts on the door trims and the dashboard add a premium touch to
it.

The second-gen BMW X6 is
powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, in-line 6-cylinder diesel motor. The Twin
turbo unit makes 313 PS of maximum power at 4,400 rpm and peak torque of 630 Nm
between 1,500-2,500 rpm. All the power generated by the engine is sent to all
four wheels via a 8-speed automatic transmission. The BMW X6 xDrive 40d can
accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 5.8 seconds and has a top speed of 240 kmph.
Competition
Although the outgoing car had no direct
rival in the Indian market, with the new X6 as BMW's arch-rival, Mercedes has
unveiled the GLE Coupe.
