on BMW i8
BMW i8 is a new age
sports car focussed on cleaner emissions and better fuel economy. It is the
first plug-in hybrid sports car from BMW that combines the benefits of an
electric motor and a petrol engine. This plugin hybrid car was unveiled by the
Little master Sachin Tendulkar himself at the Auto Expo 2014 held at New Delhi.
It has been on sale in the Indian markets since early February this year. It
has already selling in good numbers and bagged quite a few awards as well on
the global platform. BMW sells the i8 in almost about 50 countries and
statistics point out that almost 4000 cars have been sold till date in the
current year.
Price
and competition in India
BMW i8 is at present
sold in the country as a completely built up unit and so is bound to be expensive.
BMW
i8 Price in India is 2.29 crores. BMW has given
another definition of luxury and performance through the i8 and cannot be compared
to any other car here. There is no direct competitor as such, but it remains to
see whether this super cool car will have much demand here. The risk involved
in buying new concept cars and that too at a hefty price tag may discourage the
potential buyers from owning this car. All the same, the luxury car and the electric
car market is slowly picking up its pace in India as well and we may soon see
quite a few BMW i8s zooming around. If you have any query related to automobile
