Skoda Auto, the Czech Republican based automobile
companyintroduced its urban SUV – the Yeti in the year 2010. But the Yeti never
saw high sales due to its quirky design, small interior cabin and poor size to
price ratio. A new model was out in September lastyear in Mumbai. Let us see
how this all-new model is different from its previous version. Read more about

The exterior dimensions remain the same, except for
a negligible 1 mm reduction in length due to the new rear bumper.Other major
visible changes area larger grille with styled air intakes, re-designed
bumper,a new set of bi-xenon headlamps, repositioned rectangular fog lamps,
tweaked LED tail lamps and redesigned alloy wheels. The side gets a chrome
lining and the roof rails get silver accents.
There are no noticeable changes in the interior
except for the new 3 spoke steering wheel and updated dashboard and seat trims.
A great advance in the 2015 model is the integration of the new Multi-Device
Interface (MDI)which has many features like a usual trip, fuel efficiency and
range meters, illumination settings for the 'guide me home' lights, rain
sensing wipers, ORVM mirror dimming, lane changing function, central locking,
service interval details etc. Further to this, it has a setting to select the
winter tyre size for odometer correction and day light savings. It also gets
more comfort features like a dual zone A/C, cruise control, keyless entry,
electrically adjustable driver seat, folding rear seats, panoramic sunroof,
tyre monitoring system and an upgraded music system with 8 speakers. Safety
features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ESP, electronic
differential lock, anti-slip regulation and an interesting Parktronic feature.
The 2015 Skoda Yeti will be powered by the same 2.0 litre four cylinder TDi engine which has the capacity to produce a maximum power of 110 bhp and 140 bhp respectively depending on the 5 speed or 6 speed transmission. At least Skoda should have introduced a DSG automatic version.A major alteration is that Skoda has discontinued all trim levels and has retained only the top-end Elegance trim. It will be offered in 2 models- the Yeti Elegance 4X2 and Elegance 4X4 at an approximate price of Rs 18.99 lakhs and Rs 20.53 lakhs.
The compact size of the vehicle makes it easy to
manoeuvre in the cities, and it is also equally well-mannered on highways. The
Yeti has a very balanced ride and goes through bumps and potholes comfortably. The
Yeti was up till now never considered very likeable due to its offbeat looks,
despite being excellent in almost all other areas. The new face lifted Yeti has
strived hard to change this perception and is expecting to attract the
attention of a larger audience. Know more Cars,Used Cars,Automotive,AutoMobile,
