Etios Liva looks
very identical to its elder sibling – the Etios sedan, except for the boot and
shortened wheelbase. It does not carry a very flashy design, but is attractive
enough to stand out in a crowd. The Toyota Etios Liva measures 3775 mm in
length, 1695 mm in width and 1510 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2460 mm and it
gets a low ground clearance of 170 mm. The smiling front grille is flanked by traditional
looking headlamps. Pull type grab handles, body coloured ORVMs and 12 spoke
alloy wheels suit the side profile. Well-designed tail lamps, a thick chrome
strip, rear spoiler and bumper skirts complete the rear profile.
Space inside the Toyota
Etios Liva is managed well and it can easily carry 5 adults. The cabin
looks airy and bright, thanks to the colour combination of black, grey and red
instead of the usual grey or beige. The instrument console sits in the centre
of the dashboard. The seats with integrated neck rests and arm rests at rear
door offer good back support. Apart from a boot space of 251 litres, the Liva
has a generous number of cubby holes, door pockets, bottle holders and other
storage spots in the cabin. Regular features like AC, audio system with 4
speakers and all connectivity, power steering and power windows are all
present. Surprisingly Toyota has missed out certain basic features like driver
seat height adjustment, auto locks on doors, centre roof lamp and ‘headlamps
on’ notification.
Toyota Etios Liva
is available with three engine options – a 1.2litre and 1.5litre petrol engine
producing 79 bhp and 89 bhp of power respectively and a 1.4litre diesel unit
giving out 67 bhp of power. Both petrol and diesel enginesare mated to a five
speed gear box with manual transmission and dual clutch type. The mileage yielded
is around 16 to 17kmpl for the petrol engines and 23 kmpl for the diesel
variant. The MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear is
well-balanced for Indian driving conditions. Ride quality stays consistently
good, even on imperfect road conditions.
Toyota Etios Liva
falls in the price range of Rs 4.76-6.97
lakhs. Read More about latest car models, upcoming cars, used cars on Auto Portal .
