Pulse, Duster, Lodgy, Fluence and Koleos in its portfolio in India. The Renault

in Chennai. Expected to be priced between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 4 lakhs, the Kwid is

The entry level hatchback will be
manufactured in the Renault facility at Chennai and most parts will be locally
sourced, which will help it price the vehicle competitively. In India it will
have compete with market leaders like Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai EON.
The new car from Renault is expected to be
a game changer with features like high ground clearance, lower body cladding
all around, and high set bonnet, have contributed to the rugged styling of Renault
Kwid
Renault’s upcoming small car comes with a
crossover SUV-like styling along with exteriors features that really make the
car look premium. With 180 mm of high ground clearance, tall-boy stance and
lots of body cladding, the small car seems to target entry-level car buyers
looking for a spacious car.
For the interior, Renault Kwid has a
complete digital dashboard that works with a beginner level dot matrix display
system, a MediaNav infotainment system in the Kwid - a segment first
touchscreen unit. The unit will support USB and AUX-in ports. The digital
instrumentation has a central
display for the speed while on the sides you get fuel indicator along with the
warning lights. It also features satellite navigation.
Dimensions of Renault Kwid are 3,680 mm in
length and 1,580 mm in width. The entry level hatchback will be offered with 13
inch and 14 inch wheels, on lower and higher variants respectively.
Kwid will be powered by three-cylinder 800 cc
engine which has been developed under Renault-Nissan alliance (Renault Nissan
Technology Business Centre India). The engine is likely to produce about 50.7
PS of power and 90 Nm of torque. It will also be the first car on the new CMF-A
platform. Renault will also launch the Kwid hatchback with 1.0-litre petrol
engine, which will be paired to an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox,
though the car will miss out on a diesel version. Transmission options on offer
will be a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
With all these features we would not be
surprised if Renault Kwid becomes an instant hit just like the Duster did. Auto Portal
