The diesel unit remains unchanged and it returns a power of 75 PS. However, the ECU is changed to reduce the friction, which translates into better mileages. Maruti Swift Dzire comes with the conventional five-speed manual gearbox as well as a petrol variant with four-speed automatic gearbox. Mileages offered are 20.85 kmpl and 26.57 kmpl on the on the petrol and diesel variants respectively. 

Maruti Swift DZire offers numerous comfort and safety features like driver and passenger airbags, engine immobilizer, reverse parking sensor, speed sensitive automatic door lock, security alarm system, rear door child-locks, rear 3-point seat belts with centre 2-point belts and front ELR seat belts with shoulder height adjuster and many more. It also comes with features like ABS and EBD, which make the car safer. 

The Swift Dzire faces tough competition from cars like Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest. However, Maruti DZire has been able to create a space for itself, because of its brand name and better after-sale service networks.
